WILDEX PRIVACY POLICY

WILDEX is a wildlife discovery and field journal app designed to help users explore, photograph and learn about wildlife.

This Privacy Policy explains what information WILDEX may access, how it is used, and how it is stored.

1. Information WILDEX May Access

Depending on which features you choose to use, WILDEX may request access to the following information or device features:

• Camera access, so you can take wildlife photographs.
• Photo or gallery access, so you can choose an existing photograph from your device.
• Location information, if you choose to allow location access when saving a wildlife discovery.

2. Wildlife Photographs

Photographs added to your WILDEX field journal are stored locally on your device using browser or application storage.

WILDEX does not currently upload your wildlife photographs to a WILDEX account or WILDEX-owned cloud server.

You can delete individual discoveries or clear your WILDEX collection from within the app.

3. Location Information

WILDEX may ask for permission to access your location when you save a wildlife photograph.

Location access is optional. If permission is denied, unavailable or turned off, you can still use the main features of WILDEX.

If location access is allowed, WILDEX may use your device coordinates to attach location information to a discovery. WILDEX may also use a third-party reverse geocoding service to turn coordinates into a readable place name.

4. Local Storage

WILDEX uses local device storage, including IndexedDB and similar browser or app storage technologies, to save your wildlife discoveries and related information.

This information remains on your device unless you delete it, clear the app's storage, uninstall the app, or your device removes the stored data.

5. Third-Party Services

Some WILDEX features may rely on third-party services. For example, location coordinates may be sent to a reverse geocoding provider so WILDEX can display a readable location name.

These services may process limited technical or location information according to their own privacy policies.

6. Advertising

WILDEX does not currently contain third-party advertising.

7. Accounts

WILDEX does not currently require users to create an account or sign in.

8. Artificial Intelligence

WILDEX does not currently send user photographs to an artificial intelligence service for species identification.

If AI identification or similar online services are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are made available.

9. Children's Privacy

WILDEX is designed as a general wildlife education and exploration app and may be used by families.

WILDEX does not currently require users to provide their name, date of birth, email address or other account details in order to use the app.

10. Data Sharing

WILDEX does not sell users' personal information.

Information is only shared with third-party services where necessary to provide a feature requested by the user, such as converting location coordinates into a readable place name.

11. Your Choices

You can:

• Deny or revoke camera and location permissions through your device settings.
• Choose not to save location information.
• Delete individual WILDEX discoveries.
• Clear your complete WILDEX field journal.
• Clear app data or uninstall WILDEX to remove locally stored information.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when WILDEX gains new features or when privacy requirements change.
